(ARU), the United Kingdom.
These 3+0 courses that include a two-week all-expenses-paid visit to the varsity’s Cambridge campus will enable students to get a feel of the famous university town and its surroundings.
Its vice-chancellor Prof Michael Thorne said the visit would enrich the students in many ways.
HELP University president and vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Paul Chan said it was a “fantastic opportunity for the students as it would open their eyes and minds to a new world.”
“We are not just offering the programmes in our partnership. What matters ultimately is the culture that we can pick up from ARU ... to stimulate intellectual interest, scholarship in research and so on,” he said at the launch of the ARU programmes at the HELP College of Arts and Technology (HELP CAT) recently.
Prof Thorne said that during the visit, they would attend lectures, interact with academic staff and forge ties with British students.
He said education and research was a global endeavour.
“You cannot do either at just a local level. It has to be international,” he pointed out.
He also said that forming international partnerships was part of the ARU plan, whether in research or teaching.

Students in the ARU courses at HELP CAT would also be given another chance to go overseas for their industrial training as HELP CAT is currently arranging with organisations in the region to enable their students to work there.
HELP CAT president and chief executive officer Dr Choong Yeow Wei said that the arrangement provided more options and pathways for students who had completed their foundation and diploma programmes.
“The fact that the ARU programmes at HELP CAT are highly affordable and that students get a chance to spend time in its Cambridge campus, makes the courses doubly attractive,” said Dr Choong.
Two of the programmes — BSc (Hons) Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Business Information Systems — are open for registration.
The other undergraduate programmes in Accounting and Finance, Business Management, Marketing, Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering HELP CAT president are still in the process of receiving full approval from the Education Ministry and are expected to start soon.
This collaboration also includes an MBA programme that is also awaiting approval.
