MYQUEST is an instrument developed by the then Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to evaluate the current performance of private colleges in Malaysia in terms of their students, programmes, graduates, resources and governance.
KDU College Penang was awarded a 5-Star College status by the then Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia during the 2010/2011 and 2012/2013 MyQuest audits. This award is a clear recognition on the quality system practiced in KDU Penang.

Achievements of Staff and Students at KDU College Penang

Excellent quality system practiced in KDU Penang is evident with the various achievements at national and international levels by our students and staff.
  1. Students from the IHTM programme were selected to participate in the 2nd TPO Student Travel Exchange Project (STEP) 2013 held from 24/7/13- 26/7/2013 in Tongmyong University, Busan, Korea. One group of students (Pon Jo Yi and Lim Jing Yan) emerged as Champions, winning the 1st Place and USD$ 2,000 in the Tourism Product Planning competition. Another group of students (Min Sutton and Ng Zhi Yi) won the Busan Metropolitan Award in the Tourism Product Planning competition. achievement-student
  2. Darren Tan (Senior Culinary Lecturer), Chuah Lay Yen (Culinary Insructor) and Sean Lim (Alumni) together with 2 other members of the Chefs Association of Penang, won Silver Medals and a trophy for the Seafood Category during the 2013 Pattaya Culinary Cup from 6/8/2013 – 8/8/2013. culinary cup
  3. KDU College Penang students, John Ang, Jia Hui, Yu Ming and Alex Choo under the supervision of Dr Wendy Chin have managed to enter the final of the MSC Malaysia-IHL Business Plan Competition 2012/2013 with the business plan titled “i-SCAPS” and won the Merit Prize of RM 2000 plus trophies. The final presentation was held at MSC Malaysia Knowledge Workers Development Centre (KDC) on 29/5/2013 while the award ceremony was held at Le Meridien Hotel on 30/5/2013. Engineering 1

Jointly organised by MPSP, Universiti Sains Malaysia, the Penang Chapter of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the award was presented to Dr Chong Beng Keok, CEO and Principal of KDU Penang, at the Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai (MPSP) on 6/7/2013.
